RELEASE: Crystal Jackson Parker Kicks Off Campaign for District 40 Delegate with Powerful Community Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Baltimore, MD — On evening of Thursday, August 21, 2025, Crystal Jackson Parker, a dedicated community leader and former Democratic Central Committee member, officially announced her candidacy for Delegate in District 40. The campaign launch event, held outside the historic Avenue Bakery on Pennsylvania Avenue, brought together community members and local leaders to celebrate the start of her campaign.

The event featured remarks from Crystal Jackson Parker, who shared her purpose for running and her vision for a stronger, more equitable Baltimore. She outlined her priorities for District 40, including safer neighborhoods, access to affordable healthcare, quality youth education, and opportunities for small businesses.

“I speak with residents who still don’t have clean drinking water, who suffer from respiratory illness, cancer, and other diseases caused by environmental toxins dumped into our communities,” Parker said during her speech. “But these stories don’t just belong to me… they belong to every community member who has stepped up to lead public safety, public health, and initiatives to receive and protect basic human rights rooted in love, accountability, and local wisdom. If these are the same stories I’ve lived for over 40 years—and the same ones I’m hearing today—then ENOUGH is ENOUGH. The People's voice is not being heard. That’s why I’m running for State Delegate for District 40 in Baltimore City.”

The event also included the unveiling of Parker’s campaign branding. The vibrant gathering highlighted the energy and enthusiasm surrounding her candidacy in this race, with attendees expressing excitement about her commitment to addressing the challenges facing District 40.

“I pledge to take your voice to Annapolis,” Parker emphasized. “Together, we will build better… Send me to the State House to represent us.

The Avenue Bakery provided a meaningful backdrop for the event, symbolizing the rich history and resilience of Baltimore’s neighborhoods. Being born and raised in Baltimore, Parker’s candidacy is rooted in a deep commitment to the community and a readiness to serve District 40 in the Maryland House of Delegates.
